Electrical Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of a major data centre project in Finsterwalde, working closely with the Commercial Manager, Project Manager and construction teams to drive performance, manage risk and protect returns.
Senior Quantity Surveyor (Electrical) – key commercial interface for the electrical scope from early stages to final account.
The RoleAs Senior Quantity Surveyor (Electrical), you will lead the commercial and contractual function for the electrical scope of the project from early stages through to final account. You’ll be the key commercial interface with the client and supply chain, ensuring costs are controlled, change is managed properly, and the project is delivered in line with commercial objectives. This is a delivery‑focused role with genuine autonomy and accountability.
Key Responsibilities- Full management and ownership of commercial and contractual requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Acting as the primary commercial interface with the client’s commercial and contract teams
- Managing project procurement, including electrical subcontractors
- Conducting detailed cost control, forecasting and risk analysis
- Reviewing all incoming correspondence from the client, design team and subcontractors, identifying contractually critical issues and initiating responses
- Managing the commercial performance of subcontractors, including valuations, variations and final accounts
- Producing accurate project cost reports, margin forecasts and cashflow reports
- Managing change control procedures, negotiating and agreeing costs with the client
- Preparing and submitting monthly valuations and certifications
- Driving agreement of final accounts in a controlled and professional manner
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within electrical or M&E contracting
- Experience delivering data centre, mission‑critical, life sciences or pharmaceutical projects
- Strong understanding of commercial and contractual management
- Confident engaging directly with clients, consultants and senior project stakeholders
- Commercially astute, detail‑driven and proactive in managing risk
- A practical mindset with a clear focus on delivery and outcomes
