Project OverviewThe project is a 1.3 GW simple-cycle power generation facility located in Millersport, Ohio, being constructed adjacent to a hyperscale data center campus. The facility includes multiple power generation technologies consisting of Solar Titan 130 gas turbines, Siemens SGT
800 gas turbines, reciprocating engines, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and associated balance of plant infrastructure.
The scope includes major civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, underground utility, control systems, and commissioning works required to support phased energization and turnover of the facility. Construction will be executed through a combination of direct hire and subcontracted labor supported by modularization, pre-assembly, offsite warehousing, and advanced work packaging methodologies.
Job SummaryLeads field execution of all piping activities including underground utilities, above-ground piping systems, pipe fabrication, welding interfaces, testing, and mechanical completion. Responsible for coordinating piping superintendents, managing subcontractors, driving safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance, and ensuring piping systems are completed in accordance with project requirements and turnover milestones.
Major ResponsibilitiesLeadership / Supervision
- Discipline supervision of superintendents supporting 50 to 100 craft or responsible for area/facility
- Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. (Direct hire)
- Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. (Direct hire)
Planning / Productivity
- Determines workforce requirements
- Coordinates established area operational plans
Tools, Materials & Equipment
- Oversees tool and equipment usage on the site
- Manages the preparation of Field Material Requisition s for tools and consumables and ensures that the craft professionals have the tools they require to be productive
Safety & Quality
- Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation
- Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets
Technical
- Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
- Manages engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills- Extensive industrial piping construction experience on EPC projects
- Strong knowledge of underground and above-ground piping systems
- Experience managing pipe fabrication, installation, and testing activities
- Understanding of welding, NDE, hydrotesting, flushing, and reinstatement
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary interfaces
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and workface planning
- Experience supporting mechanical completion and system turnover
- Strong leadership, communication, and field coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple work fronts and critical path activities
- Industrial or power generation project experience preferred
