yWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Enginee r with expertise in Automotive Seating Systems and Body-in-White (BIW
) design. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of automotive design experienc e leading product development from concept through production. This role requires strong proficiency in CATIA V5/V6, extensive knowledge of automotive regulations, manufacturing processes, system integration, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality vehicle systems

.Key Responsibilitie
  • sDesign and develop automotive seating system
    s from concept through mass production
  • .Design seating components including sheet metal, plastic, and surrounding structural part
    s
  • .Create and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, and 3D annotations (3DA
    ) using CATIA V5 and CATIA V6, including advanced surface modeling
  • .Develop designs considering vehicle packaging, styling, performance, manufacturability, and regulatory requirements
  • .Ensure compliance with FMVS
    S,
    EC
    E, and occupant safety regulations
  • .Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM
    ) and Design for Assembly (DFA
    ) principles throughout product development
  • .Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct design reviews, module-level integration, and issue resolution
  • .Coordinate offshore engineering activities and ensure timely delivery with high quality
  • .Mentor engineering teams and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • .Support DFME
    A,
    DVP&R, and Functional Safety activities throughout project milestones
.BIW Responsibilitie
  • sSupport Body-in-White (BIW) projects from feasibility through production launch
  • .Lead system integration activities for upper body and underbody structures
  • .Define and mature critical body sections while optimizing packaging and structural performance
  • .Develop and execute BIW component designs using industry best practices
  • .Interpret CAE simulation results and implement design improvements
  • .Collaborate with customers and suppliers on closures, structural interfaces, and system integration
  • .Track engineering deliverables against program milestones using KPI-based project tracking tools
  • .Optimize designs for cost, mass reduction, joining methods, formability, and manufacturability
  • .Recommend and implement design improvements to enhance product performance and reduce costs
  • .Ensure robust and on-time delivery of Body System content throughout the product development lifecycle
.Required Qualification
  • sBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • .10+ year
    s of automotive product design experience
  • .Strong experience in Automotive Seating System
    s design and development
  • .Experience supporting Body-in-White (BIW
    ) engineering programs from feasibility through production
  • .Expert proficiency in CATIA V5 and CATIA V6, including surface modeling, 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and 3DA
  • .Thorough understanding of FMVS
    S,
    EC
    E, and occupant safety regulations
  • .Strong knowledge of DF
    M,
    DF
    A, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and automotive manufacturing processes
  • .Experience supporting DFME
    A,
    DVP&R, Functional Safety, and engineering validation activities
  • .Ability to interpret CAE analysis and incorporate simulation recommendations into product designs
  • .Excellent communication, leadership, supplier coordination, and project management skills
.Preferred Qualification
  • sExperience working with OEMs or Tier-1 automotive suppliers
  • .Knowledge of PLM systems and engineering change management processes
  • .Experience leading global or offshore engineering teams
  • .Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, product launch, and automotive development processes
