Job SummaryWe are currently seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician. This position is located at our West Jefferson, Ohio campus.
In this role, you will conduct advanced diagnostic analysis of products using schematics, diagrams, and comprehensive system knowledge. You will work both independently and collaboratively with engineers to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of specialized systems while ensuring defined schedules are met.
This position also carries a leadership component, as you will provide oversight, guidance, and training to junior personnel to build capability across the team in the areas of diagnostics, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Electro-Mechanical Technician, the selected individual will perform advanced electro-mechanical assembly and diagnostic work while supporting both engineering teams and junior staff. Responsibilities may include:
- Conducts advanced diagnostic analysis of products using schematics, diagrams, and system knowledge
- Works independently on special products and in conjunction with engineers to meet defined schedules
- Provides oversight, guidance, and leadership to less experienced staff
- Trains junior personnel to improve diagnostic, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly skills
- Works with engineering to maintain and enhance systems
- Provides input and suggestions to designers and engineers to support continuous improvement
- Monitors schedules and conducts tasks to maintain schedule adherence
- Recommends allocation of resources to meet project requirements
- High school diploma and a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical/mechanical assembly tasks, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field; a technical degree may be required
- Demonstrated mechanical and/or electrical skills relevant to assembly and diagnostic work
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision across multiple concurrent tasks
- Ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to schedule monitoring and resource planning

Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $45,600 – $63,800 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location and market conditions.
