AboutThe Role Manufacturing Engineer, Fury
Ashville, Ohio, United States
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center.
As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
The Role
Anduril's Fury team builds cutting-edge defense hardware in Columbus, Ohio, including flight vehicles, static equipment, and moving ground equipment, as part of the effort to rebuild the arsenal. You will rapidly iterate and industrialize aircraft-class hardware from prototype through rate.
Fury is Anduril's autonomous air vehicle (a Collaborative Combat Aircraft) designed to fly alongside crewed fighters. Manufacturing Fury means aircraft structures, composites, and complex electromechanical integration at scale.
About The JobYou will own a product area's manufacturing on Fury, driving manufacturability, building tooling, developing process flows, and documenting the build for aircraft-class structural and electromechanical hardware, from prototype through rate.
What You'll Do- Own a portion of the manufacturing value chain for a product, from prototype through rate.
- Develop tooling for the fabrication and assembly of structural parts.
- Develop process flows that break complex assemblies into a logical flow of subassemblies and sub-processes.
- Author build documentation
, including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements. - Work with contract manufacturers across PCBA fabrication, metallic manufacturing, and assembly to develop repeatable processes.
- Build prototype hardware hands-on with technicians and other engineers, and root-cause and resolve floor issues.
- Operate with incomplete or still-evolving design inputs: ask the right questions, work from first principles, and create structure where none yet exists.
- 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, or equivalent hands-on build experience.
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred,
or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience. - ME fundamentals across drawings and GD&T, DFM, work instructions, and tooling, with comfort in ambiguity and rate.
- You have physically built hardware through machining, fabrication, composite layup, or assembly; personal projects count.
- CAD proficiency, and exposure to production-planning tools such as ERP and MES.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Aircraft structures, composites, or advanced manufacturing.
- High-rate manufacturing background in an adjacent industry such as aerospace, automotive and EV, industrial, or medical device.
- Hands-on experience with R/C or autonomous flight systems, plus automation and robotics.
