The Novelis Uhrichsville is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of equipment within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for providing mechanical engineering expertise to solve equipment issues, improve maintenance effectiveness, support capital projects, and ensure equipment reliability to meet production goals. The Mechanical Engineer collaborates closely with operations, maintenance, and project teams to develop practical solutions, implement process improvements, and manage numerous projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, quality, and cost control.

• Maintenance of equipment covering all phases of heavy industrial plant engineering, typical of themetalsindustry.

• Provide a strong mechanical understanding of process, civil, and electrical components involved in their equipment.

• Responsible for troubleshooting encounters that center around meeting production needs in the face of tight,frequently revised schedules and/or equipment failures, the start-up of new equipment, development of new products and processes.

• Develop practical solutions to repetitive equipment failure problems that contribute to the effectiveness of the maintenance effort.

• Contribute engineeringexpertiseto project work andselectionof replacement or new equipment to help ensure consistency and standardization of components and ease of maintenance.

• Assistin the development of engineering or maintenance procedures and repair work to ensure they are safe,effectiveand efficient

• Responsible for managing multiple projects, efficiency, time, and budgets.

• Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Minimum 2-5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
• Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship

• Ability to organize and prioritize responsibility; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
• Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment
• Must also possess leadership skills to direct, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives
• Solid computer skills with software applications proficiency, including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD
• 2 - 5 years of Industrial experience
