We are looking for a Senior Combat / Gameplay Designer (f/m/d) with creative ideas and good knowledge in the field of game development for our headquarters in Giebelstadt/Germany (on-site only).

For our current in-house game project, which is set in a science fiction world with a focus on story and combat, we are looking for a Level Artist (f/m/d) with a good sense of aesthetics, light and composition. Work closely with our art, design, and programming teams to breathe life into our game ideas.

As part of the design team, you will:

• Collaborate with art, design, and programming teams to implement gameplay ideas and systems
• Design encounters, boss fights, and combat encounters with dramaturgy, phase design, and player guidance
• Balance abilities, weapons, and enemies to achieve engaging progression
• Prototype and implement gameplay mechanics in Unity
• Document complex systems and communicate them clearly to the team
• Leverage VFX & SFX to enhance the impact and readability of attacks and abilities
• Work with the animation department on movesets, root motion, and timing
• Adapt quickly to new tasks with self-motivation and a strong sense of responsibility

• Several years of professional experience as a Gameplay or Combat Designer, preferably on action or RPG titles
• Strong expertise in Unity, including prototyping and implementing gameplay mechanics
• A keen sense for Soulslike combat systems, particularly regarding timing, hit feedback, difficulty curves, and risk-reward design
• Experience collaborating with the animation department — movesets, root motion, and timing are second nature
• Understanding of how to leverage VFX & SFX to enhance the impact and readability of attacks and abilities
• Experience balancing abilities, weapons, and enemies
• Skilled in designing encounters and boss fights with dramaturgy and player guidance
• Ability to document complex systems and communicate them clearly to the team
• Team player with open-mindedness and good integration into existing teams
• Self-motivation, responsibility, and the drive to grow with the company
• Excellent German and English skills, both spoken and written
