The Junior Compliance Analyst supports the Compliance Manager in ensuring that Sporty Bet South Africa operates in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, licence conditions, and internal policies. This role assists with day-to-day compliance activities, documentation, monitoring, and regulatory submissions, contributing to the organisation’s broader risk management and governance framework.
What You'll Be Doing Compliance Monitoring and Documentation- Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date compliance documentation, registers, and internal records.
- Support internal reviews to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and licensing conditions.
- Help track and monitor compliance deadlines, reporting calendars, and regulatory obligations.
- Assist in preparing regulatory submissions, responses, and supporting documentation under the guidance of the Compliance Manager.
- Help coordinate inputs from internal teams for licence renewals and statutory filings.
- Support the preparation for internal and external audits, including collecting evidence, updating documents, and liaising with relevant departments.
- Assist with implementing audit recommendations and corrective action plans.
- Support the development, review, and maintenance of compliance policies, SOPs, and control frameworks.
- Help ensure that teams are following approved procedures and escalating deviations where required.
- Identify and elevate potential compliance risks observed during daily tasks.
- Assist in documenting incidents, breaches, and risk events for compliance oversight.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, including Operations, Risk, Fraud, Finance, and Customer Support, to ensure compliance processes are followed.
- Provide general compliance guidance to business units as directed by the Compliance Manager.
- Assist in preparing reports for senior management and the Board.
- Support preparation for governance meetings, including assembling compliance packs and updating trackers.
- Assist with data protection, privacy compliance, and information governance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business, compliance, or similar.
- 2‑3 years of experience in Compliance, AML, Financial Crime, Governance, or a related regulatory function.
- Cape Town based candidates preferred.
- Strong understanding of compliance principles and regulatory frameworks.
- High attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies or potential risks.
- Strong organisational and documentation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
