Job Purpose
The New Model Cost Project Lead is responsible for leading and managing new model project plans that achieve A00 targets. The role includes leading the procurement purchasing team in all aspects of a new model project (including BEV) from start to finish, providing technical expertise, designing, identifying, communicating, and implementing a plan for completing the NM project on time and achieving cost and investment targets, including BOM maturation, ML communication across HDMA, DB Cost Correlation, and Cost Roll-up/Reporting to top management (both PSCC and ADC).
The role also involves monitoring progress and performance against the project plan versus actual.
- Lead full model change project management (BEV, etc.)
- Recognize problems/issues with new model development
- Communicate effectively with other groups to establish/report accurate new model costs
- Lead systems associates that support the department
- Prepare new model cost presentations that explain cost/investment to ADC management
- Review and establish cost-based part structures for new models while confirming cost change reasons by part for summarization and reporting
Minimum Education al Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree (Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or Purchasing) preferred or equivalent related experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience depending upon education
Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM), the GML system, and understanding of the Global Policy manual for the GSR system.

Financial Dimensions:
Maintain cost systems which establish budgets for all New Model MP cost and Investment.
- Negotiate the timing of activities in the project with D&E side leaders to meet cost and investment targets.
- Manage the development of required project budgets and manage plan vs actual through evaluation process.
- Support team in negotiations on complex issues impacting the development targets.
- Develop efficient Project Status reports with purchasing team and present to Department, Division and HDMA management.
- Lead effective negotiations with D & E to support resolution of complex issues impacting cost and investment.
- International and Domestic travel (as required) to support unit cost roll-up and attend evaluations.
- OT as required during weekdays and weekends to support model activities.
