Accounts Payable Clerk
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely and compliant processing of supplier invoices for multiple legal entities within a Swiss Life Asset Managers Group. The role is part of Swiss Life Asset Managers Group Competence Center based in Portugal (Lisbon) and supports monthly separate accounts prepared under IFRS. The position requires close coordination with internal stakeholders and adherence to group policies, controls and service-level agreements.
• Process vendor invoices in accordance with Group accounting policies;
• Ensure correct cost allocation and coding by entity, cost center and GL account;
• Prepare supplier payment runs in line with agreed schedules;
• Monitor and reconcile vendor accounts and manage outstanding balances and disputes;
• Support monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities;
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements;
• Liaise with procurement, controlling and local finance teams across Group entities;
• Maintain Accounts Payable master data and documentation in alignment with data governance rules.
• Solid understanding of Accounts Payable processes within a Competence Center / Shared Services environment;
• Knowledge of expense recognition and accrual concepts;
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP R3 and / or S/4
HANA will be a plus);
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft 365 tools.
• Ability to work with tight monthly closing calendars;
• Understanding of VAT rules and invoicing compliance requirements;
• Fluency in English (mandatory);
German and / or French will be a plus.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
• Strong organizational and time-management skills;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight month-end deadlines;
