Mortgage Loan Officer

What You’ll Do

• Develop referral contacts (realtors, builders, professional and personal contacts).
• Partner with bank employees to provide mortgage loan products to customers.
• Analyze client mortgage needs and recommend appropriate mortgage products.
• Collect appropriate documentation from borrowers to successfully complete the loan approval and closing process.
• Manage pipeline for loan origination through approval and closing.
• Maintain high level of customer service and provide updates to the customers, realtors, and closing agents during the loan process.
• Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures, underwriting and general departmental guidelines.
• In addition to mortgage loans, offer home equity loan/line products to customers.
• Actively network within the Columbus business and community landscape to establish new relationships and enhance brand presence.
• Bring creative, innovative ideas to support our market expansion and growth strategies.

• Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
• Have a minimum of 5 years of retail mortgage lending experience.
• Have an established book of local referral sources.
• Have had existing mortgage sales of $1 million per month.
• Current working knowledge of the ICE/Encompass Loan system preferred.
• This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). The NMLS web site (mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
