July 2026 Role Summary

The Team Leader/Client Advisor leads an Advisory Team and takes responsibility for all aspects of the client relationship while implementing The Joseph Group’s (TJG) full-service financial planning model. A successful candidate will:

  • Be a self-starter and be skilled at dealing with multiple clients, prospects and priorities
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a client facing Advisor
Duties and Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage an Advisory Team consisting of a Client Advisor & an Associate
  • Oversee performance, conduct regular Team meetings, 1-on-1s and foster growth through thoughtful coaching and tailored developmental plans
  • Create leverage for Team by leading and utilizing the Associate on your Team
  • Act as Team point of escalation for complex client issues and reg flags to ensure client engagement and satisfaction
  • Business Development
    • Drive new business and be a TJG advocate utilizing client referrals, centers of influence, personal network, and networking events…
    • Lead, train and hold Team accountable for business development participation and to achieve TJG’s new business development goal
    • Active participation in TJG Events:
      Wealth Summits, Portfolios and Pints, Mixers as well as engage in other Team business development initiatives
  • Execute TJG’s full-service financial planning model (TJG Way) for clients:
    • Purpose
      • Assess client goals and encourage clients in their purpose
      • Utilize TJG’s tools to illustrate how a client’s wealth aligns with their purpose
      • Identify and celebrate client stories
    • Plan
      • Help clients with specific planning topics/projects such as Net Worth development, cash flow evaluation, retirement projections, mortgage refinancing, Social Security or pension optimization, Roth conversions, college education, insurance, and estate planning…
      • Utilize e-Money
      • Coordinate with and involve other outside advisors (attorneys, accountants…)
  • Articulate TJG investment strategies to Clients and actively contribute to ongoing investment dialogue
  • Utilize TJG investment communication tools
  • Review outside accounts and provide recommendations
  • Live our Commitment to Simplify, Clarify, Encourage

Team Member

  • Work in unison with other TJG Teams (Advisor Teams, Service Excellence Team (SET), Investment Services Team (IST), Retirement Plan Services (RPS), BD/Marketing…
    • Assist other Teams or Team members when needed
    • Spearhead internal company projects
  • Utilize CRM system effectively for good Team communication
Qualifications

This position typically requires the following qualifications:

  • Ability to assist Team Lead and/or other Advisors when needed
  • Work experience that demonstrates knowledge of financial industry and planning concepts
  • Excellent communication, listening, and relationship building skills
  • Strong project management skills – organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize
  • A passion for caring for clients
  • CFP® designation is strongly desired
  • A Team player in TJG’s “Best Places to Work” culture
  • Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company environment
  • Proactive, self-motivated personality
  • Proficiency in Financial Planning Software, Office Suite and beyond
