Responsibilities & Requirements

Provides executive leadership, direction, and coordination for the financial performance and stewardship of assigned hospital campus(es). Serves as the campus Chief Financial Officer and principal financial advisor to the Hospital President and campus executive team, translating system priorities into actionable campus plans and ensuring accountability for sustainable financial and operational results.

Partners across Kettering Health to integrate finance, operations, quality, growth, patient experience, and workforce considerations into executive decision-making. Advances consistent practices across the system while responding appropriately to the needs and operating realities of the assigned campus(es).

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Stewardship and Performance
  • Provides executive leadership for the overall financial performance of assigned campus(es), including achievement of operating, capital, productivity, and cash-flow expectations.
  • Leads development of annual operating and capital budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans in collaboration with campus and system leaders.
  • Evaluates and communicates financial and operational results, risks, opportunities, and corrective actions to the Hospital President, executive teams, and system finance leadership.
  • Establishes a disciplined performance-management process using timely, accurate, and actionable reports, dashboards, benchmarks, and variance analysis.
  • Monitors and helps improve key performance drivers, including volume, access and capacity, labor productivity, resource utilization, revenue integrity, reimbursement, cost structure, and capital deployment.
  • Ensures compliance with approved budgets, financial policies, internal controls, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational expectations for fiscal integrity.
  • Safeguards organizational assets and promotes responsible use of human, financial, physical, technological, and other resources.
Operational Partnership and Accountability
  • Serves as a trusted financial and operational advisor to the Hospital President, campus executive team, physicians, and other leaders.
  • Understands complex operating issues and partners with leaders to convert data into decisions, action plans, measurable results, and sustained accountability.
  • Supports leaders in understanding financial expectations, productivity targets, operational drivers, and the actions required to perform within budget and strategic commitments.
  • Builds financial acumen throughout the organization by explaining reports, analytics, business drivers, and tradeoffs in clear and practical terms.
  • Provides executive leadership for assigned campus functions and leaders as determined by the organizational structure, while ensuring effective coordination across direct, indirect, and matrixed relationships.
  • Creates an environment in which communication crosses campus and functional boundaries to advance organizational goals and consistent practices.
