GENERAL

PURPOSE:

The Zoning Inspectorworksunderthesupervisionofthe Planning and Zoning Manage rand shall assist the Planning and Zoning Managerensuringthatallzoning-relatedmatterswithinthe

Cityconformtotheestablished

Municipal Planning and Zoning Code,International Property Maintenance Codeand Codified Ordinances of the City of Huron.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Studies, reviews, applies,and enforces the City of Huron Planning and Zoning Code,International Property Maintenance Code,andvariousothercodes withinthe Huron Codified Ordinances .
Conducts plan reviewson all Zoning applications,documenting findings, andrenderingapproval or denial ofthe

Zoning Permit.
Conductsvariousinspectionsincludingzoning setback/compliance,transientrental, andgeneralzoning and property maintenance violations.

Maintainscompleteandaccuraterecordsofallplan reviews,inspections,case notes,violationcasesand nuisance abatements within the city’s software program.
Conductsresearch and responds to inquiries and/or meets withproperty ownerstocommunicatein common terms, complex zoning regulations, procedures, compliancerequirementsand/orremedyactions.
