Position: Colerain Township Fire Cadet - 2026
Location: Dornbusch

The Fire Cadet serves as aparticipant in the Colerain Fire and EMS Cadet Program and is providedopportunities to observe, learn, and assist with non-hazardous fire and EMSoperations under the direct supervision of department personnel. The cadetprogram is designed to introduce students to the fire and emergency medicalservices profession while promoting leadership, teamwork, professionalism, and community service.

Cadets are expected to maintain a professional appearance and conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the values and mission of Colerain Fire and EMS. Cadets mayassist personnel with station duties, equipment checks, public educationevents, community risk reduction initiatives, administrative projects, trainingevolutions, and other approved support functions. Cadets may observe emergencyincidents and training activities but shall not participate in hazardousoperations or perform duties prohibited by department policy, state law, orprogram guidelines.

Responsibilities may includeassisting with station maintenance, preparing training materials, supportingfire prevention and public education programs, participating in ride-alongopportunities, attending scheduled training sessions, and maintaining programdocumentation or assigned coursework. Cadets are expected to follow all department rules, safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and chain ofcommand expectations.

The cadet will demonstratedependability, willingness to learn, positive communication skills, and respecttoward department members and the public. Participation in the program is intended to foster career exploration and prepare students for future educational and employment opportunities in fire, EMS, public safety, or related fields.
