Overview

Northridge Local School District is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team and provide essential services to students with speech, language, and communication needs.

Required
  • Valid Ohio Pupil Services License for School Speech-Language Pathology issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Passage of the PRAXIS II (5331) examination with a qualifying score (162).
  • Current Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
Preparation & Experience
  • Completion of 375 hours of supervised clinical practicum and at least 25 hours of clinical observation.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year: nine months full-time supervised professional experience (or equivalent).
  • Passage of a national exam approved by the Board (typically PRAXIS).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with Ohio’s Learning Standards and developmentally appropriate, evidence-based therapy practices.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with families, teachers, and support staff.
  • Proficient in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and strategies to support communication and learning.
Job Description

The Speech-Language Pathologist will assess, diagnose, and provide therapy to students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing IEPs for eligible students.
  • Delivering direct and consultative services.
  • Monitoring student progress and maintaining compliance documentation.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams and school-wide initiatives.
