The Technician – Environmental Services creates a sanitary, safe environment and enhances the appearance of the facility in accordance with Mount Carmel’s Mission and Guiding Behaviors.

• Exhibits each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards handling self and others with accountability and role-modeling excellence.
• Cleans patient rooms and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Stocks paper items and other supplies in patient rooms as necessary or designated.
• Moves furniture for repair or cleaning and sets up meeting rooms.
• Assists in cleaning of emergency spills/floods when observed or requested.

• High School Graduate or GED preferred.
• Clear and respectful communication with patients, visitors, and colleagues; ability to verbalize approved scripting.
• Reading, basic math and writing skills required.
• Knowledge of proper use of chemicals, dilution, and use of supplies, tools and equipment; including operation of steam sterilizer, grinding/shredding system, waste compactor, recycling compactor and cardboard balers.
