Position PurposeProvides patient‑focused customer service. Performs outpatient and/or inpatient registration & insurance verification functions; collects patient financial liability payments & ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre‑certifications & referrals. Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.

- Research, collect and analyze information. Identify opportunities, develop solutions, and lead through resolution.
- Collaborate on performance improvement activities to enhance program efficiency and patient experience.
- Responsible for distribution of analytical reports.
- Utilize multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports & develop educational materials, incorporating basic knowledge of Trinity Health policies to ensure quality, confidentiality & safety.
- Demonstrate knowledge of departmental processes & procedures and ability to acquire new knowledge.
- Research & compile information to support ad‑hoc operational projects & initiatives.
- Synthesize and analyze data and provide detailed summaries including graphical presentations illustrating trends & recommending practical options or solutions while considering impact on business strategy and supporting leadership decision making.
- Leverage program & operational data & measurements to define & demonstrate progress, ROI & impacts.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state & local laws / regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of Conduct and other policies to ensure adherence in a manner reflecting honest, ethical & professional behavior & safe work practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certification required within one year of hire.
- Entry‑level position. Minimum one year customer service experience. Patient Access experience preferred.
- Medical terminology knowledge and diagnostic & procedural coding knowledge.
- Insurance verification with ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations.
