Shelter Care for Unaccompanied Children Grand Rapids | Full-Time | $75,000 to $78,000/ year + $3,000 Bonus Available

What You’ll DoAs a Clinician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the emotional and psychological well‑being of children who have experienced significant hardship. You’ll provide assessments, therapy, and case coordination in a culturally responsive and bilingual environment. Here you will only have a case load of 12 allowing a better balance between clinical and social work needs.
What We’re Looking For- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
- Licensed to practice in the state of Michigan (LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC, etc.)
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
- Proof of current auto insurance
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
- Passion for working with children and families from diverse backgrounds

Core Responsibilities Clinical Service Delivery- Maintain a caseload that is in alignment with contact requirements, providing individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment modalities.
- Assist minors in identifying, presenting concerns, and collaboratively developing goals and action steps.
- Provide culturally responsive psychoeducation and therapeutic interventions tailored to developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Complete all required clinical assessments including mental health evaluations, risk assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge documentation.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records.
- Present cases to supervisors and the clinical team for treatment planning review and progress monitoring.
- Participate actively as a member of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Recommend services and assist in coordinating internal and external resources.
- Maintain professional communication and confidentiality.
- Timely completion of assessments and documentation
- Demonstrated progress toward client treatment goals
- Consistent delivery of trauma-informed, culturally responsive care
- Master or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology with clinical experience required.
- Eligible for limited licensure with state of Michigan, application submitted preferred:
Limited Licensed Professional Counselor, Temporary Limited License Psychologist, Limited Licensed Master Social Work, Licensed Professional Counselor, Limited Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Master Social Work. - Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) Training Preferred.
- Valid driver's license with good driving record; reliable ongoing personal transportation suitable for safely transporting minors served; proof of insurance required.
- Experience working with adolescents and trauma-impacted populations, refugee or immigrant experience preferred.
- Culturally competent, trauma-informed practice
- Evidence-based therapeutic techniques for children, families, and groups
- Person-centered planning and shared decision-making
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Knowledge of state and local human services systems
- Ability to lead group therapy and psycho educational sessions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic clinical records
