Cuyahoga Heights Local Schools is seeking a dedicated and skilled Long-Term Substitute Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our student services team from January through April 2026. This individual will provide school-based occupational therapy services to students with identified needs and will oversee and collaborate with an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA).
ResponsibilitiesDeliver school-based occupational therapy services in alignment with IEPs and district policies.
Evaluate students’ functional abilities and develop intervention strategies to support access to curriculum and school participation.
Collaborate with teachers, intervention specialists, related service providers, and families.
Supervise, direct, and support the daily work of an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA).
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and progress monitoring in compliance with IDEA and district guidelines.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions as needed.
Provide consultative support to staff to promote student independence and skill development.
QualificationsCurrent Ohio Occupational Therapist License and a Pupil Service License and/or temporary pupil service license from ODEW required.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Prior experience in school-based occupational therapy preferred.
Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP process, and school-based service delivery models.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and oversee an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Compensation & ScheduleCompetitive daily rate commensurate with experience.
Full-time schedule aligned with the district’s academic calendar (January – April 2026).
