IH; Industrial Hygiene Technician, Sr

Under general supervision, performs industrial hygiene (IH) job functions as assigned by supervision and management. Provides support to IH Technician Leads and supervision in ensuring monitoring, controls, and processes are in place to reduce and control chemical, biological, and physical hazards in compliance with applicable policies, DOE Orders, safety guidelines, and federal, state, and local regulations. Typical responsibilities do not include directing work activities or utilizing discretionary decision-making authority.

The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:

• Participates in monitoring workplace health standards in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and assists in compliance.
• Performs assigned tasks according to detailed instructions and established policies and procedures.
• Ensures controls required to mitigate identified hazards are implemented.
• Provides support in industrial hygiene, environmental, and hazardous material activities.
• Assists in processing hygiene analyses using various methodologies, laboratory equipment, and instruments.
• Maintains data in industrial hygiene and environmental data capture systems.
• Generates reports, charts, and spreadsheets to document IH activities.
• Provides administrative and functional support to the industrial hygiene team.
• Performs duties ranging from general and routine to moderately complex in nature.
• Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with approved safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Actively participates in Safety Work Groups.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
