Job Summary

The PET Technologist performs diagnostic PET procedures using positron emitting radionuclides and operates sensitive radiation detection equipment (PET or PET/CT scanner). The individual performs under limited supervision and conducts PET or hybrid PET/CT scanning procedures in the Positron Emission Tomography section of the Kettering Health System.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Work Experience – Minimum 1 year previous experience in a hospital setting preferred; experience in an active PET department with image co-registration knowledge required.
• Minimum Education – Minimum of an Associate Degree required.
• Required Licenses – Registered or certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, ARRT(N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, NMTCB. Ohio license to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Certification required within 24 months of hire if not already obtained; preferred if the technologist has successfully passed the NMTCB‑PET exam and remains certified in PET specialty by retaking the exam every 7 years.

• Ability to handle irregular or extended hours, including potential weekend, evening, and on‑call responsibilities.
