Certified Medical Assistant

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required.
• Active medical assistant certification required for certain specialties; required certifications include AMT, NCCT, NHA, ARMA, AAMA, or CPR, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Phlebotomy certification may be required, to be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Prior experience working as an MA, CMA, CNA, EMT or at least 2 years of experience in a medical office assisting with patient care.
• CPR certification or willingness to become certified upon hire.

The base pay range for a Medical Assistant is $21.43–$23.63, and for a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant it is $22.97–$24.57. Pay is based on skills, experience, education, certifications, location and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.

• Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history.
• Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures.
• Assist certified medical assistants with immunizations or injections.
• Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing.
• Conduct onsite lab testing, including EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests.
• Maintain clean, warm, and inviting examination rooms for patient visits.
• Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values.
• Travel to assist other local clinics may be required.
