Wound Center Clinical Services Supervisor

Supervision of the Wound Center Clincal Services. Participates in assigned committees and projects. Oversees daily clinical operations and acts as clinical consultant for staff. Assist in development and maintenance of policies and procedures, process improvements, and education and competencies in compliance with UHMS, HFAP, and CMS standards and regulations.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Holds self and others accountable for safety by ensuring appropriate procedures and guidelines are followed. Responsive to coaching and feedback for improvement; demonstrates continued progress by improving competencies, skill development and applying learning. Demonstrates appropriate judgment and thinking skills for situations. Attends (or reviews via Health Stream) a minimum of three Town Hall meetings. Participates in establishment and management of clinical, quality and productivity goals.
Develops and implements materials for patient education and compliance. Develops and insures completion of annual staff training / competencies for Wound & Hyperbaric. Educates and enforces applicable Quality Measures and protocols to insure quality patient care. Assures standards of behavior are met utilizing behavioral based techniques and monitoring team activity. Solicits input from management and staff, through staffing involvement, before implementing major changes.
Minimum Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN or CCNE) if they are a new graduate nurse. New graduates from non-accredited programs may be considered if they had a clinical rotation at a network hospital. Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred. A nurse who is returning to the acute care setting after five or more years may be required to provide evidence of successful completion of a refresher course.

Required Skills
BLS certification CHRN preferred. ACLS, NRP, PALS as determined by unit scope of practice. Wound Care Certification is required to be obtained within 4 years of hire or within 4 years of notification. Possesses excellent communication skills. Able to develop rapport with patients, families, staff and auxiliary departments. Possesses good computer skills.
