Position Summary
Mad River Local Schools is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support student access to and participation in the educational environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate students referred for occupational therapy services.
- Develop, implement, and monitor occupational therapy goals and interventions as outlined in student IEPs.
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to eligible students.
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation required by federal, state, and district regulations.
- Participate in Evaluation Team Reports (ETRs), IEP meetings, and other student support meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, intervention specialists, administrators, and parents regarding student needs and progress.
- Recommend adaptive equipment, accommodations, and modifications to support student success.
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and applicable Ohio Department of Education requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services.
- Valid Ohio Occupational Therapist License.
- Registration with the Occupational Therapy Section of the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board.
- Experience working with school-aged children preferred.
- Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
