Our EAP Counsellors engage with participants over the phone, video, chat & email all while demonstrating what we call:
The Power of a Good Conversation – creating a connection with the client to ensure they feel heard, supported, and cared for. It's difficult to define an "average day" for our counsellors, as every caller brings a unique set of experiences and challenges. Through thoughtful clinical conversations, our counsellors support each individual in exploring their situation and finding a path forward.
- Provide single session telephonic and video counselling, in-the-moment support and crisis telephonic management in a supportive, ethical and professional manner while maintaining client-confidentiality.
- Assess clients thoroughly to ensure appropriateness for short-term counselling.
- Assess and manage high risk calls and working closely with individuals at risk.
- Appropriately refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of our holistic approach.
- Maintain clear clinical and task-oriented documentation in case management system.
- Deliver comprehensive administrative support, acting as a key point of contact to assist clients and providers with service-related enquiries and issue resolution.
- Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.
- Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, counselling or related field.
- 2 years of experience in Clinical Psychology.
- Applicants must be members of the Portuguese Board of Psychologists.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English.
- Experience in solution focused counselling.
- Excellent IT and administration skills.
- Experience of working within a service centre environment would be advantageous.
- Experience working for an organisation with listening/counselling/support services would also be an advantage.
