Dialysis Technician

Position Overview

DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Canal Winchester Dialysis Center in Canal Winchester, OH.

Shift

Hours:

• MWF 5a-5p, 5a-3p, 3-9p – TTS 5-3p and 5-4p (potential for hours to shift depending on patient census)
• Typical shift length: 10-12 hours per day, 3-4 days per week with a minimum of two Saturdays per month; may start as early as 4:00 am.
• Hours during training may vary; typically 32-40 hours per week.
• Must be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Paid training includes classroom and hands‑on training.
• Reimbursement for Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license.
• Training may take place in a facility or training clinic with other new teammates.

• Dependable, strong work ethic, eager to learn, thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working around blood, needles, and mixing acid or bicarbonate.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical and mental ability to work long shifts (some >12 hours) while on your feet; comfortable shoes required.
• Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
• Healthcare experience preferred: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

• Direct patient care: provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment to 4‑5 patients at a time.
• Morning duties: prepare water room, bicarb, test water, calibrate tools.
• Patient monitoring before, during, and after dialysis: record statistics, observe patients, set up hemodialysis machine.
• Physical requirements:
  
  lift 5‑50 pounds unassisted; perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching.
• Communicate clearly in person and by phone; use computer as needed.
• Continuous improvement: contribute to process improvements for patients and teammates.
• Educate patients on kidney dialysis topics.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional team (technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, leaders); work under RN supervision.
• Shifts may begin as early as 4:00 am; schedule will be discussed during interview.
