The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is committed to reducing recidivism by providing rehabilitative treatment and programming in a safe, secure and humane correctional environment. The agency works to protect the public by helping individuals turn away from crime and become productive members of their communities.

• Member of an interdisciplinary mental health treatment team, providing assigned mental health interventions for a caseload of mentally ill criminal offenders.
• Conduct screenings, including detailed mental health screens and risk assessments with suicide watch when appropriate.
• Deliver individual and group clinical interventions as prescribed in each client’s treatment plan.
• Provide psychosocial group interventions and mental health liaison services to monitor offender progress.
• Complete psychosocial needs and treatment assessments as part of interdisciplinary treatment planning.
• Prepare transfer and discharge summaries.
• Consult with institution staff about the offender’s institutional adjustment and service needs.
• Initiate and maintain contact with families and community agencies.
• Gather and document information regarding patient care and treatment.
• Make community referrals in accordance with the mental health treatment team.
• Write reports, documentation, and electronic records of all inmate contacts, liaison progress notes, discharge plans, and other required forms.
• Attend supervision meetings and in‑service training sessions for professional development.
• May be assigned to teach in‑service training.

• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
