About the Role:As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Gables Care Center, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to design and implement individualized treatment plans for our residents. Your expertise will focus on promoting independence, improving mobility, and enhancing overall well‑being. Responsibilities:- Assist licensed Physical Therapists with patient assessments, development of treatment plans, and implementation of interventions
- Conduct physical therapy treatments, including exercises, modalities, and other interventions as prescribed by the Physical Therapist
- Monitor and record patient progress, reporting changes and concerns to the Physical Therapist
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, adhering to facility policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication
- Participate in staff training and education programs to stay current with best practices and industry developments
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or related field
- Successful completion of a PTA program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
- Current licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Ohio
- Prior experience in long‑term care or rehabilitation setting (not required but preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to lift, transfer, and move patients, with or without assistance, as needed
