Registration Representative

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt and effective internal and outgoing communication services for hospital staff and inpatients.
• Collects accurate information for registering inpatient admissions, emergency services, and outpatients.
• Operates PBX console by answering incoming calls, transferring calls, and using the intercom system as needed.
• Acts as receptionist for the ESD and for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Initiates, transmits, and contributes accurate information in a timely and confidential manner.
• Maintains the dignity and confidentiality of patients, responds with empathy, and observes patient rights at all times.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care or service based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the needs of the patients served.
• Performs other duties within the department as necessary.
