Job Overview

The Psychologist Supervisor provides statewide leadership and oversight for psychology, counseling, forensic, and behavioral health services across all Developmental Centers. The role establishes clinical standards, directs program operations, supervises psychology leadership staff, ensures regulatory compliance, leads forensic and court-involved service delivery, supports complex clinical cases, and guides statewide quality improvement and strategic initiatives. This position works collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure consistent, evidence-based, high-quality psychological care for residents.

What Will You Do?

Statewide Psychology Operations

Direct and evaluate statewide psychology services across all Developmental Centers. Set strategic direction, goals, standards, and operational expectations for psychology programs. Supervise and mentor Psychology Supervisors and psychology staff. Provide clinical supervision to Psychology Assistants and/or other staff when needed. Develop and implement statewide policies, procedures, and quality assurance measures. Ensure consistency in programming, counseling, behavioral health operations, and clinical practices.

Oversee contracts, vendor performance, and external psychological service delivery. Monitor statewide performance through audits, reviews, metrics, and quality improvement activities.

Forensic, Court-Involved, and Specialized Behavioral Health Services

Lead statewide forensic operations, including court-involved admissions, competency restoration, and services for high-risk behavioral health populations in partnership with the Legal division. Oversee psychological evaluations, forensic assessments, diagnostic testing, and specialized assessment practices. Collaborate with Legal Services, courts, law enforcement, prosecutors, and community partners. Participate in hearings, case reviews, and forensic consultations. Ensure compliance with behavior support regulations, human rights standards, trauma-informed care, legal mandates, and forensic program requirements.

Develop standardized intervention protocols, forensic programming expectations, and behavior support practices. Provide clinical consultation, technical assistance, and second-level case review for complex or high-risk cases.

Counseling, Treatment, and Behavioral Health Services

Direct statewide counseling initiatives and psychological treatment strategies using evidence-based practices. Establish statewide counseling standards, treatment benchmarks, and quality improvement expectations. Promote implementation of DBT, trauma-informed interventions, and behavioral stabilization programming. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate psychological treatment into resident care planning. Evaluate counseling outcomes, service effectiveness, and staff competencies. Develop training materials, operational tools, and resources to strengthen counseling and behavioral health operations.

Provide consultation, diagnostic clarification, and limited clinical intervention as needed.
