Position: Autism Practitioners (Support Workers) - Dundee Outreach
Location: Dundee

Position Overview

Autism Practitioners (Support Workers) – Dundee Outreach, Tayside Area Services. Part‑time, up to 30 hours per week.

We are seeking team players with excellent communication skills, creativity, and a passion for community inclusion to support individuals with autism in engaging activities and developing independence.

Shift Times

Monday to Friday 8 am‑6 pm;
Saturdays 9 am‑4 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement personalised support plans for the supported person.
  • Build positive relationships with the supported person.
  • Work in partnership with the supported person, their family, support network, and health professionals.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure the person’s life goals and aspirations are at the centre of their support.
  • Enable people to make informed choices using their preferred communication methods.
  • Take part in chosen activities, attending local events, shopping, holidays, and other community engagements.
  • Assist with tasks that enable individuals to maintain their homes, including paying bills and making decisions that matter to them.
  • Support individuals to live independently with various life skills, including personal care where required.
Qualifications
  • A UK driving licence is desirable but not essential. Drivers can help extend opportunities for supported individuals.
  • All new employees must apply to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 3 months of starting and be registered within 6 months. Scottish Autism covers the cost of PVG membership and SSSC registration.
