Sonographer - Diagnostic

Job Overview

Sonographer I – Diagnostic – 32 hours per week 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with occasional 2nd shift coverage, on‑call requirement, rotating weekends and holidays.

Location:

Barberton campus, Summa Health System.

Salary: $36.83 – $44.20 per hour.

• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce studies related to specific specialty.
• Identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
• Provide quality exams in this modality on a routine basis.

• Completion of a Sonography program from an accredited school of ultrasound technology; OR one year of full‑time ultrasound experience specific to the field of the posted position.
• Registered in field of experience (RVS, RVT, RDMS, RCS, RDCS).
• Basic Life Support.

• Collaborative relationship with physicians and allied health‑care professionals.
• Effective communication with physicians, health‑care personnel, patients, families, and visitors.
• Calibration and operation of equipment.
• Lifting and transporting patients and equipment.
• Independent prioritization of work and effective problem resolution.
• Calm and effective reaction in emergency situations.
• Teamwork.
• Population‑specific competency: effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with understanding of their needs for self‑respect and dignity.

• Heavy:
  Exert 50‑100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25‑50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10‑20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
