Job Overview: JFSA of Cleveland has an immediate opening for full-time Counselors/ Therapists. Join our health and human services Agency, which has provided world‑class services for the Jewish and non‑Jewish communities in Northeast Ohio for 150 years.

You’ll be responsible for providing therapeutic services to individuals and/or groups, including new client intakes/diagnostic assessments, as well as certified mental health services. This position will also become part of the Cognitive Enhancement Therapy team, working to continue the storied success of this clinical program.

Required Licensure: Current LISW or relevant independent licensures valid in Ohio

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supports the clinical needs of individuals served through the Achieving Potential Department.
  • Represents the Agency effectively with partner agencies, including funders, other Jewish communal agencies, and other community agencies providing support to agency clients in order to enhance client services.
  • Assists in the development of community initiatives to address the unmet needs of specialized populations.
  • Provides assessment and behavioral health services.
  • Meets productivity standards through appropriate billing.
  • Responsible for documenting services in the client’s record in accordance with all regulations and requirements.
  • Addresses employee issues in a timely and proactive manner. Provides guidance to improve performance.
  • Provides accurate and timely billing data to the fiscal staff.
  • Provides accurate and timely information to Admissions and to other Agency personnel for purposes of tracking productivity and consumer services.
  • Supports the clinical needs of individuals served through the Achieving Potential Department, arranging family meetings as appropriate to provide necessary support.
  • Demonstrates awareness of, follows all safety policies and procedures, and adheres to all recommended safe work practices. Also contributes to the control of hazards in specified areas of responsibility.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
Education, Training, Experience, Licensure
  • Five years or more of clinical work experience, at least two of which are in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience with a broad range of clientele including individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, older adults, services to families, services delivered in group settings, etc.
  • Community outreach experiences preferred.
  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, nursing or psychology required.
  • Current LISW or other relevant independent licensures valid in Ohio.
  • Responsible for maintenance of an active professional license and appropriate CEU’s.
  • Maintain both a valid Ohio Driver’s License, and a driving record that meets JFSA’s insurance company standards (e.g., less than 2 incidents over a 3-year period).
  • Maintain personal auto liability insurance at the level that the Agency and the insurance carrier required.
