Job DescriptionResponsible and accountable for observation of all monitors in the central monitoring station, including 3 A‑B‑C‑D, 4AB, 4CD, 5AB, 5CD, 6AB, 6CD; MICU, reporting any abnormalities, obtaining, routing, documenting, and accurately defining rhythm strips. Performs ECG tests on patients as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- HSD or equivalent with completion of formal cardiac rhythm identification training including EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or a completed one year of the associate degree program in cardiovascular technology or a minimum of 1 year experience in performing EKGs with the ability to recognize arrhythmias and/or telemetry monitoring experience.
- Successfully completes an arrhythmia test, with an 80% overall, including 100% on the fatal arrhythmia section.
- Preferred experience with EKGs and arrhythmia identification.
- BLS Certification.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours.
- Physical requirements:
visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable; ability to hear; ability to orally communicate; good manual dexterity; ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 30 pounds occasionally; ability to stand, walk frequently; ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently; ability to perform CPR (if required).
