CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) certification Required New Vista Health and Wellness is currently recruiting for qualified a Recreational Therapist at Blue Ridge Vista, a premier behavioral health hospital in the Cincinnati, OH area.

Part Time and PRN Positions available. Weekends are required!

We are recruiting for a full time RECREATIONAL THERAPIST position at our facility.

THE ROLE:

The Recreational Therapist serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide therapeutic recreational and activity services to patients hospitalized for treatment of substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric or emotional disorders. The Recreational Therapist plans, organizes and directs medically approved recreation programs, including such activities as sports, dramatics, games, arts and crafts to assist patients to develop interpersonal relationships, to socialize effectively, and to develop confidence needed to participate in group activities.

The Recreational Therapist regulates the content of the programs in accordance with patients’ capabilities, needs and interests. The Recreational Therapist will instruct patients in relaxation techniques, calisthenics, and counsel and encourage patients to develop leisure activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute in Recreational Therapy or relevant licensure or certification per State of Ohio practice guidelines.

Experience:

:
Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.

Licensure:
Current unencumbered CTRS certification required.

Additional Requirements:

CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.

Music or art therapist accepted

Must be 21 years of age or older
