The Ohio Veterans Homes, part of Ohio Department of Veterans Services, are trauma informed care long-term care focused on providing excellent care to Ohio's veterans. The Veteran Homes provide direct nursing home care at facilities in Sandusky and Georgetown as well as domiciliary living to qualified veterans in Sandusky.

What does a Therapeutic Program Worker do at the Veterans Homes? A Therapeutic Program Worker (TPW) is a direct care worker that helps residents with daily living skills and assists them with needs. Support given to the individual will vary based on each person's needs and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with eating, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene, oral hygiene, dressing, grooming, communications, assist with feeding. Transport and attends activities or programs with residents Complete various daily, monthly, and other required documentation Observe & report any changes in symptoms, behaviors, accidents, incidents or injuries to charge nurse Perform light housekeeping duties in the living areas Applies safety & infection control measures Assists with redirecting unsafe actions to bring about positive outcomes Assist nursing personnel with admissions, discharge, & transfer of residents
Qualifications:
In positions at Veteran Services in addition to above must possess STNA certification &/or listed on Ohio Nurse Aide Registry. No experience required
