Role Purpose

The Human Resources & Compliance Lead will play a critical role in supporting the successful mobilisation and delivery of a large-scale data centre project in Germany. The position is responsible for ensuring full compliance with German employment legislation, immigration requirements, and internal company HR policies, while providing hands‑on HR and administrative support to a multicultural, rotational workforce.

HR & Legal Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with Germanemployment law, collective agreements, and local labour regulations
  • Implement and maintain project‑specific HR compliance frameworks in line with company standards
  • Support subcontractors in understanding and meeting GermanHR and employment compliance requirements
  • Assist with and support internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance checks on site
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee documentation, records, and reporting
Immigration, Residency & Authorities
  • Liaise with immigration lawyers and advisors regarding:
    • Work permits
    • Residence permits
    • EU and non‑EU workforce requirements
  • Coordinate registrations with German authorities and municipalities, including residency and CPR registrations where applicable
  • Act as the main point of contact between the project and local authorities on employment‑related matters
  • Track visa and permit expiry dates and ensure ongoing compliance
Workforce & Project HR Support
  • Act as Project HR Adviser to Project Managers, Operations, and Senior Leadership
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including:
    • Onboarding
    • Contract administration
    • Mobilisation and demobilisation
    • Offboarding
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations
  • Support disciplinary, grievance, and people‑management processes in line with local legislation
Travel & Accommodation Coordination
  • Coordinate and track employee travel and accommodation, particularly for rotational work forces
  • Work closely with site administration to ensure timely and cost‑effective arrangements
  • Support structured rotation patterns (e.g. 3‑weeks‑on / 1‑week‑off) and ensure operational continuity
  • Monitor travel compliance and authorisation processes to protect project delivery
Team & Administrative Management
  • Coordinate and oversee the project administration team
  • Allocate and prioritise workloads to ensure smooth project operations
  • Support general project administration, including reporting, record‑keeping, and correspondence
  • Carry out additional administrative and HR‑related duties as required by the project
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with:
    • Project Directors
    • Construction & Operations teams
    • Commercial and Finance teams
    • Site Administration
    • External legal and immigration advisors
  • Provide clear communication and guidance to employees and subcontractors on HR and compliance matters
Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong experience in HR, compliance, or workforce administration, ideally on large construction or industrial projects
  • Working knowledge of German employment law or experience operating within a regulated European employment environment
  • Experience dealing with international work forces, visas, and mobility
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multicultural teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, project‑based environment
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
Desirable Experience
  • Data centre, pharmaceutical, or large‑scale infrastructure project experience
  • Experience supporting rotational or site‑based work forces
  • Previous experience liaising with German authorities or similar European regulators
