HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST
The City of Oakwood is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Human Resources Generalist for the Human Resources Department. The HR Generalist reports to the HR Director and performs professional and administrative duties, exercising independent judgment with limited supervision.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist City employees and the public regarding a wide variety of assigned personnel matters, including but not limited to recruitment, selection, pay, fringe benefits, employment verifications, onboarding and related issues.
- Maintain employee benefit plans, including enrollment, qualifying event changes, COBRA, invoice processing, and life insurance claims.
- Assist and oversee the City’s Workers' Compensation program and unemployment claims, including maintaining records for PERRP reporting.
- Assist in proposed policy or procedural changes in Personnel Department programs.
- Administer and maintain City property insurance claims and records and the City’s personnel performance system.
- Provide coverage for the City Manager's Administrative Assistant and the Receptionist.
- Perform all other related duties as required and assigned.
- Associate degree with two (2) years of experience in Human Resources or a related field.
- Training and/or experience in office practices and procedures with two (2) years of experience in personnel administration.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Notary Certification (may be acquired after employment)
The current pay range is $22.25/hour to $37.73/hour depending on qualifications and knowledge, plus an excellent benefits package including but not limited to health and dental insurance, vision coverage, life insurance, paid leave, and enrollment in the pension program.
