Senior DevOps Engineer

Senior Dev Ops Engineer | Regulated Fintech | Remote-first (4 days monthly Berlin)

I am partnered with a regulated fintech infrastructure company that are hiring a senior Dev Ops engineer to own and evolve their AWS Kubernetes platform at scale.

This is a platform engineering role. You will work on the systems that product engineers depend on to ship reliably in a regulated environment. The focus is production ownership, operational clarity, and sound engineering decisions.

• Own and operate EKS clusters on AWS, including building new clusters from templates
• Design and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Build and run CI/CD with Argo CD and related workflow tooling
• Design observability across metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and incident response using Datadog
• Improve developer experience across build, deploy, and operational workflows
• Participate in on-call and drive learning through post-incident reviews
• Contribute to platform direction with a product mindset

• AWS-first with EKS at the core
• Terraform for all infrastructure changes
• Git Ops-style delivery with Argo CD
• Strong emphasis on monitoring design and failure modes
• Documentation and tickets are part of day-to-day work

• You operate at senior level in Dev Ops or platform engineering
• You have owned Kubernetes infrastructure in production
• You are comfortable debugging real incidents and explaining systems clearly
• You think in systems, trade-offs, and failure modes
• You work well with autonomy and minimal process
• You are comfortable in regulated environments

• Datadog or Open Telemetry experience
• Security or compliance awareness
• Experience in smaller teams with real platform ownership
• Exposure to AI or developer tooling platforms

• Ownership of critical production infrastructure
• Direct impact on reliability, developer velocity, and platform design
• High trust environment with senior peers
