Information Technology Infrastructure Specialist

Location: Germany (hybrid, site access as needed)

This role exists because a German data centre platform is moving from site delivery into long-term operational scale and the infrastructure layer needs a steady, experienced hand.

The business is privately backed, well-capitalised, and already live across multiple German locations. Over the next phase, capacity increases, standardisation, and operational consistency matter more than raw speed. This is about building something that lasts.

You’ll own the IT infrastructure landscape across German data centre projects spanning core network, compute, storage, security, and integration into operations. The mandate is practical: define standards, make sensible architectural decisions, and ensure infrastructure is resilient, supportable, and ready for enterprise and hyperscale customers alike.

Reporting into senior technical leadership, you’ll work closely with construction, operations, and external vendors. Early on, the focus is Germany: live sites, new campuses, and brownfield-to-standard transitions. As additional capacity comes online, your influence naturally expands into more sites, more complexity, more decision-making authority.

This is not a role for someone who wants a greenfield lab or theoretical architecture. It suits someone who has seen what works and what breaks in real data centre environments:
Tier III/IV facilities, regulated customers, 24/7 availability, and the realities of handover from build to operations.

The right background is less about job titles and more about pattern recognition: experience owning infrastructure decisions in mission-critical environments, navigating vendors without being led by them, and balancing robustness with pragmatism.
