Morgan Prestwich are a boutique search firm, exclusively representing the Life Sciences industry, in particular the biotech industry, globally. A niche of ours is building bespoke launch teams internationally. We are partnered with a rare disease client, headquartered in the US looking to launch their first asset in Europe. After success fully appointing their SVP International, we are now building out various teams, the first of which is the entire German affiliate.
We are looking to appoint 2 Field based medical experts, Senior MSL's / Field Medical Advisors.
An innovative, research-driven biopharmaceutical organisation focused on rare diseases is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join its expanding medical affairs team.
This role serves as a key scientific partner in the field, facilitating high-quality, non-promotional scientific exchange and acting as a conduit between the medical community and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will combine strong scientific credibility with strategic thinking and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities- Develop deep expertise within a designated rare disease area and associated therapeutic landscape
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, academic experts, and relevant stakeholders at regional and national levels
- Deliver high-quality scientific presentations and educational discussions tailored to diverse external audiences
- Support clinical development initiatives, including engagement with potential study sites and investigator education
- Contribute to the planning and execution of territory-level medical engagement strategies aligned with broader medical objectives
- Capture and communicate actionable field insights to internal cross-functional teams
- Provide scientific support in response to unsolicited medical information requests
- Collaborate compliantly with cross-functional colleagues to ensure aligned and appropriate external engagement
- Contribute to the development of medical materials and educational resources
- Support advisory meetings, expert consultations, and scientific workshops as required
- Facilitate and oversee investigator-sponsored research initiatives in accordance with governance standards
- Attend relevant scientific meetings and congresses to support appropriate scientific exchange
- Ensure all activities are conducted in full compliance with applicable regulatory, legal, and ethical standards
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree (e.g., MD, Pharm
D, PhD or equivalent) preferred - Significant experience within medical affairs in biotechnology or pharmaceutical environments
- Strong understanding of clinical research, regulatory frameworks, and the broader healthcare landscape
- Prior experience in rare diseases and/or specialty therapeutic areas is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly and credibly
- Fluent German speaker (native or business level); professional proficiency in English preferred
- Strategic, proactive mindset with the ability to operate effectively in dynamic environments
