Principal Database Admin

As Principal Database Administrator at Epicor, you will be a key technical leader ensuring the availability, security, and performance of mission‑critical database environments supporting our Government Cloud customers. You will guide strategy, modernize databases, drive cloud transformation, and safeguard essential customer operations.

• Architect, implement, and support highly available, secure, and scalable database platforms across Government Cloud and hybrid environments.
• Lead and execute database migrations, including on‑premises to cloud transformations, SQL Server to Postgre
  
  SQL conversions, and workload modernization.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain relational and non‑relational database technologies while ensuring compliance with strict security and governance requirements.
• Design and manage HA/DR solutions—including replication, clustering, failover, and backup/recovery—to protect mission‑critical workloads.
• Drive automation‑first practices by building database automation and CI/CD workflows using Ansible and Git Hub Actions.
• Partner with development, cloud, and Dev Ops teams to provide architectural guidance, troubleshoot performance issues, and support new and existing application initiatives.
• Mentor database team members, influence best practices, and evaluate emerging technologies to continuously improve database operations.

• Deep expertise with both SQL Server and Postgre
  
  SQL in enterprise and mission‑critical environments.
• Demonstrated experience designing and supporting HA/DR architectures across cloud and hybrid deployments.
• Proven success migrating databases from on‑premises to cloud platforms.
• Hands‑on experience converting SQL Server workloads to Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud database services, security models, and cloud‑native architectures.
• Advanced experience with automation, including Ansible, IaC concepts, and CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub Actions).
• Strong understanding of database security, governance, compliance, and performance tuning.
• 10+ years of enterprise database administration experience; 5+ years supporting cloud, hybrid, or regulated environments preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience with Terraform or additional IaC frameworks.
• Scripting experience for automation and operational optimization.
• Exposure to No
  
  SQL and modern data platform technologies.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog.
• Gov Cloud or regulated‑industry background; US Person or Green Card holder (Gov Cloud requirement).

Salary Range:
Minimum $120,000 USD – Maximum $204,000 USD.
