The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated L3/L4 Data Center Engineer to support the buildout and operational readiness of a new data center in Ellendale, ND. This is a hands‑on role requiring deep technical expertise, strong problem‑solving abilities, and a willingness to relocate for the duration of the project. All travel and living expenses will be fully covered.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain data center operations to ensure high availability and reliability
- Conduct hardware and network diagnostics and perform repairs
- Perform root cause analysis of hardware and software failures
- Train internal teams on systems and procedures
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
- Provide technical support to data center teams
- Create scripts to automate updates for server and networking hardware
- Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and components
- Assemble, install, and configure data center equipment
- Perform maintenance on test and tools equipment
- Data center operations and infrastructure
- Rack and stack procedures
- Hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Cabling and cable management
- Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos configuration
- Scripting in Python and Bash
- Experience with computer hardware (assembly and troubleshooting)
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in elevated locations (reasonable accommodations provided)
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including on‑call rotation and after‑hours support
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to issues
This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
