Job DescriptionAs a member of the Integration Facility, the Engineering Technician will perform receiving, RMA, maintenance, and repair of various networking and telecommunication systems, cabling, and related equipment that support the FAA’s FTI, ADS-B, MFN‑2, and DCNS networks. Tasks may include asset management, shipping/receiving, network configuration, telecommunication testing, RF troubleshooting and testing, or computer testing and repair.
Essential Functions- Receive equipment from field technicians, RMAs from vendors, and new parts from purchase orders.
- Communicate with vendors to perform RMA of equipment for repair.
- Coordinate shipping of repair parts to field technicians with the program team.
- Maintain records of repairs, changes, and updates in home‑grown database systems.
- Read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions.
- Maintain a safe, clean work area using 5S principles.
- Test, diagnose, repair, configure, and perform preventative maintenance on network equipment, telecommunications equipment, and/or computers that support the FAA’s FTI, ADS-B, MFN‑2, and DCNS networks.
- Safely lift up to 32 pounds (14.52 kg).
- Obtain a FAA Public Trust Clearance or a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a 2‑year post‑secondary/Associate degree with 0–2 years of related experience.
- Familiarity with Cisco devices and command‑line interfaces via terminal software (Putty, Tera Term, Hyperterm, Procomm).
- Strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and follow‑through.
- Team player, proactive, and customer‑oriented with a sense of urgency.
- High level of initiative and willingness to learn.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Military training or trade school experience in electronics or IT systems.
