What You’ll Build

The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAP’s global, strategic, paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers. This is more than an internship; it’s the foundation for a career built on connection, creativity, and impact.

Position title:

SAP iXp Intern (f/m/d) - People Insights Data Scientist

  • Learn from, collaborate with, and support our industry experts to gain knowledge in employee listening, survey design, and people analytics.
  • Contribute to SAP’s global employee engagement program by analyzing employee feedback and translating insights into actionable strategies to enhance engagement and support transformation.
  • Gain hands‑on experience in consulting on and implementing employee-facing survey requests using Qualtrics, including survey setup, dashboard design, and sentiment analysis.
  • Support with data wrangling and both quantitative and qualitative analyses by using state‑of‑the‑art AI‑augmented development workflows (e.g., Claude Code and Git Hub Copilot equipped with the latest LLMs) and Python as the main programming language for data science (R as optional secondary). Enjoy the power of leveraging high‑performance compute clusters on Azure Databricks for complex analyses.
  • Assist with employee support within our global #Unfiltered survey program, gaining firsthand experience in a leading feedback culture initiative.
  • Facilitate enablement sessions or prepare enablement materials and support creation of effective and targeted communication assets for different stakeholders (from C‑Levels to all employees).
  • Immerse yourself in a Scrum set‑up, thriving in an open and agile team culture, taking on responsibilities that support our personal and professional growth.
What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

  • You are a student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences.
  • Preferred fields of study:
    Data Science, ML Ops, Data Engineering, Business Informatics, Social and Psychological Sciences, Business Administration, Economics or comparable with a Data Science or HR background.
  • Data Science & Analytics:
    Python (specializing in Polars, Seaborn, Stats models, Scikit-learn, PyTorch) with SQL for data extraction. Experienced in statistical inference, experimental design, and A/B testing. Optionally, R as a secondary language.
  • AI & Dev Ops:
    Skilled in AI‑augmented development using agentic patterns in Claude Code and Git Hub Copilot (MCP servers, custom skills). Proficient in Git/Git Hub collaboration (branching, PRs) and implementing CI/CD workflows (Git Hub Actions, Jenkins) for automated testing and deployment.
  • Data Engineering & Cloud (optional):
    Proficient in ETL pipelines and data transformation workflows. Familiar with Azure Cloud Infrastructure (including Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and SAP HANA Data Lake) to support scalable data solutions.
  • Tools & Communication:
    Advanced Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint or Power BI for data storytelling). Familiarity with Qualtrics for dashboarding is a plus.
  • Language skills: fluent in English, both written and spoken;
    German is a plus.
  • Soft skills:

    collaborative and team‑oriented, with strong interpersonal communication and time‑management skills. Demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness with a self‑starter attitude and a proactive mindset.
