Job Overview
As an HPC engineer, you'll support the operation of HPC workflows that power large‑scale aerospace simulation campaigns. You'll help configure and submit jobs through HPC schedulers, package scientific software into containers, troubleshoot job failures and performance issues, and support the researchers who depend on these environments. You'll work closely with senior HPC and Dev Sec Ops engineers, gaining exposure to scheduler configuration, storage systems, parallel computing, and the integration of HPC with modern CI/CD workflows.
Qualifications- 1+ years of experience in Linux‑based HPC, cluster, or scientific computing environments (academic, internship, or professional).
- Experience scripting in Bash or Python.
- Knowledge of Linux command line operations and shell scripting.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computational Science, Engineering, or Physics.
- Experience with HPC job schedulers such as Slurm, PBS, and LSF, and submitting batch jobs.
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Singularity, or Apptainer.
- Experience with parallel computing concepts such as MPI and OpenMP.
- Experience with parallel file systems such as Lustre, GPFS, or high‑throughput storage.
- Experience with GPU computing, including CUDA and ROCm.
- Experience in scientific software environments, including modules, Spack, and Easy Build.
- Experience with DoD HPC environments such as DREN and DSRC.
- Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Git Lab.
- Secret clearance.
- Security+ CE Certification.
