Overview

The DT Technicians are responsible for ensuring local DT Infrastructure environments are operationally stable, cost effective, optimized and secured. This position assists with Service Level Management for the DT Infrastructure & Security service level agreements. These include server, storage & back-up, & security operation. This person interfaces with plant personnel, the regional DT team, the AM operation manager. This person would support DT infrastructure & security project & operations strategy and assist to align with business objectives for the plant.

The person works with Americas’ site DT team members to help support internal data center operations, security operations, the production change control process and the implementation of IT service delivery improvement initiatives and projects within the region.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide break fix and troubleshooting service for the site
  • Provide on-site IT Operations support for all IT Infrastructure and Operating systems including PCs, locally administered servers, workstations, network routers, network nodes, printers
  • Execute incident, problem and change management processes using the designated tracking tool
  • Face off to business customers within the site ensuring excellent customer service
  • Local responsibility for Asset management and consumption tracking, keeping CMDB in line with actual
  • Manage local applications including break fix, housekeeping and system administration as appropriate
  • Work with internal resources and outsourcing partners to deliver day-to-day IT Operations, ensuring systems/solutions are meeting / exceeding availability and performance service levels, decreasing business impacting incidents and ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved locally within the site
  • Take ownership of all incidents and initiatives affecting site’s IT environment regardless of which group is driving
  • Do what it takes to get business working including hands on intervention as required
  • Fix root causes of incidents to assure no repeat incidents and lowering both lost units and lost work hours for those incidents that do occur
  • Participate in on call duty as required in the local site
  • Support local project implementations when they occur
  • Execute local change management
  • Ensure conformance and adherence to working procedures and audit standards
  • Support and participate in EH&S objectives
Education

• Bachelor's Degree preferred

Required & Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology with specific knowledge in IT daily operations and systems management
  • Knowledge of ITIL-process desirable
  • Distinctive IT-related knowledge and understanding as well as analytical way of thinking
  • Enjoys dealing with customers, first experiences with IT-helpdesk
  • Highly team-oriented and confident appearance
  • Very good written and spoken English
  • Able to cope with pressure, good manners and a solution as well as customer oriented work style
