IT Support, Network Engineer, Systems Engineer
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure customers have continuous access to the cloud. This role involves scaling support across several data center locations, day‑to‑day capacity management, and collaborating with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution.
The position requires leveraging experience supporting large‑scale enterprise networks, network implementation, troubleshooting, and refining operational procedures in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Physical Requirements Are Expected With Reasonable Accommodations
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with ability to participate in primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed
- Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
Travel within and outside the regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
Key Job Responsibilities- Managing work and priorities through a ticketing system to complete customer requests and projects
- Collaborating with stakeholders to remove project obstacles
- Troubleshooting networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
- Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking for new equipment
- Participating in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- 2+ years of computer networking experience
- Experience working with Linux operating systems
- Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Comfort working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
