UNIQLO is recruiting a Data Protection Specialist to sit within its European Information Security Team in Berlin, Germany. The role will report to the Data Privacy Manager and support data protection and AI initiatives across the Fast Retailing Group.
Responsibilities- Support data protection and AI programs of the Fast Retailing Group, led by the Data Protection Officer (DPO).
- Act as the point of contact for business departments, support functions and management on data protection matters.
- Educate and train employees on data protection and AI compliance responsibilities and obligations.
- Identify, raise and address risk areas of data protection in internal operations and projects.
- Manage data protection related incidents.
- Assist stakeholders to conduct DPIAs.
- Review and follow up on resulting recommended action plans.
- Conduct privacy checks and ensure that the data protection requirements are respected in our internal processes.
- Manage data subjects' rights.
- Implement actions to ensure compliance with relevant information‑management policies and data protection laws.
- Collaborate with members of the Information Security Office team to support the business teams in assessing partners and projects, evaluating risks for our customers and company, assessing gaps with policy requirements, and following remediations until completion.
- More than 4 years' experience in data protection, compliance or legal.
- Extensive knowledge of data protection and AI laws and practices.
- Ability to reflect legal requirements in activities and operational procedures.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal and written German and English are essential;
Polish is desirable. - Ability to prioritise work effectively.
- Highly motivated self‑starter with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong sense of ownership and drive to manage tasks to completion.
- Strong capabilities in reporting activities.
- Cyber security technical background is a plus.
- Appropriate privacy and technical and/or security certifications preferred (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM, AIGP).
